The duo Oud Immortel and Accord Oud are both created around oud, a type of wood that, due to its use in incense and traditional perfumes, has acquired great cultural significance. Its existence is recorded in one of the oldest written texts in the world: the Vedas of India, written in Sanskrit. When the heartwood of the Aquilaria, previously light-colored, is infected by a specific type of mold, it defends itself by saturating the core with a dark and highly fragrant resin. This dark wood, oud, or agarwood, contains a complex fragrance, unlike most other natural ingredients.
