Notre Dame 15.4.2019 Extrait de Parfum is a unisex woody fragrance dedicated to and inspired by the tragic fire that struck Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris on April 15, 2019. Yet the invitation is not to dwell on that date, but to open ourselves to its true Essence.
Filippo Sorcinelli had the privilege of accessing areas closed to tourism, capturing unexpected images, scents and values. But what is the true essence of the Cathedral? We naturally assume it holds only the intense smell of incense. Nothing could be more incomplete!
The scent of Notre-Dame is not incense. Today, it is that moment of smoke that engraves history. It is also the water overflowing from the stones, running down the sides of the organ. It is the tear in the vaults allowing light to pour in from the bare sky. It is the scent of life unbroken, of the untouched Soul, the golden Cross that springs forth.
Notre-Dame 15.4.2019, the true essence, will be a small support to the Maitrise, the ensemble of singers and musicians who safeguard the priceless heritage of the Cathedral’s Sacred Music.
