Inspired by his connection to Africa, particularly through his father’s travels and years spent there, Ben Gorham conceived Bal d’Afrique both as an imaginary journey and as a celebration of Africa’s profound cultural impact on dance, art, and music.
This reinterpretation elevates the contrast between the vibrant lightness and irresistible depth of Bal d’Afrique, intensifying its gourmand characteristics for a richer, more overwhelming experience. The notes of bergamot, lemon, and blackcurrant release a vibrant intensity that blends with the sweetness of praline, musks, and violet, before settling into a commanding base of cedarwood, vetiver, and warm black amber.
The new Absolu de Parfum bottle pays tribute to craftsmanship: the cap is inspired by Yakisugi, the Japanese art of wood charring, reflecting the essence of Absolu, characterized by deep intensity, transformation, and enduring strength.
